Too many smart people burn out on job searches that go nowhere. Endless portals, repeated applications, roles that never truly fit. We've both been there.
Dean spent 6 years as a data scientist and AI engineer, good at his job, but he kept finding himself back on job boards. Sometimes by choice, sometimes not. Every time: scrolling through hundreds of listings, tailoring resumes, writing cover letters that disappeared into the void. The worst part wasn't the rejection. It was the silence. No feedback, no progress, just an endless loop of hope and uncertainty. He started building tools for himself. Better matching. Smarter resume tweaks. Over time, those experiments became something bigger.
Vali brought the design perspective: 8 years making complex tools feel intuitive and human, from indie projects to enterprise products. We both knew technology could do better. Job searching shouldn't add friction to something already vulnerable. It should respect your time, treat you as an individual, and actually help you find what fits.
